CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) is a rapidly growing freight forwarding start-up within Wayfair, moving containers across the globe to Wayfair’s shelves and elsewhere. We offer a full suite of shipping services (Asia consolidation, ocean freight, drayage, customs brokerage, cargo insurance, etc.) that aims to provide Wayfair suppliers with predictable, reliable, and competitive Freight Forwarding solutions.

As a Senior Freight Associate, you will be a key driver of new business opportunities for CGF by identifying and cultivating relationships with potential suppliers. You will manage the entire sales cycle from initial opportunity through to closed contract, ensuring the supplier's needs are met and the solution is successfully implemented. We are looking for a highly motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative environment while actively seeking out new opportunities. Your goal will be to acquire new suppliers, increase profitable volume with CGF while driving high levels of supplier satisfaction.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as a catalyst for new business opportunities by identifying and converting leads for future CGF growth with a proactive, hunter mentality
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification through to closed contract and ultimately handing off to Onboarding
  • Utilize needs based selling to identify needs and develop tailored supply chain solutions for Wayfair suppliers  Manage your pipeline and effectively forecast volume through negotiations and facilitate the contracting process with suppliers, ensuring alignment with CGF’s logistics solutions
  • Increase CGF Volume and profitability by driving supplier participation in both core and ancillary services
  • Leverage data and industry expertise to analyze supplier needs to create customized win win solutions that align with their business objectives
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure successful supplier onboarding and smooth transition to Account Management
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams to ensure success, share insights, and provide support wherever needed

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of professional experience in freight forwarding/logistics sales or a related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with experience in Google Suite and Salesforce 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Curiosity and eagerness to have a meaningful impact on the business, particularly around sales strategy, supplier experience, and profitability
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple levels in a cross-functional team
  • Confidence to independently handle negotiations and work directly with suppliers, including mid-level and C-level business partners
  • A team-oriented mindset with a relentless drive to identify, pursue, and capitalize on new business opportunities
  • A collaborative, results-driven attitude that values the success of the team over individual accomplishments

An Important Note about Wayfair's In-Office Policy:

All Boston-based interns, Co-ops, and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on designated days, Monday - Thursday, and work remotely Friday.
