As our Leeds Site Manager, you will play an essential element in Wayfair’s overall strategy to deliver products our customers love to help them love their home. Managing the day to day, you will lead, pivot, inspire and unite cross functional skilled teams to effectively collaborate; enabling this vision to become a reality.
What you will do
- Lead a fast paced transport and warehousing delivery operation
- Effectively manage, coach and develop multiple teams supporting personal and team performance.
- Play a key role in improving customer satisfaction and driving repeat business in their region by ensuring that Logistics Administrators and Home Delivery Partners provide world class customer experiences at every opportunity.
- Reduce Order Turn Time by monitoring scheduling platforms to ensure that orders are delivered as quickly as possible.
- Partner closely with the talent management team to address staffing comprehensively.
- Overseeing and managing site Health & Safety aspects to ensure compliance with regulations, risk assessments, and safe working practices. This includes conducting safety audits , etc
- Proactively monitor order management systems and routing systems to optimize routes and resolve outstanding order issues.
- Monitor, report and improve KPI, including Large Parcel Delivery Score, On Time Delivery %, Order Dwell Days and Customer Miss-Rate
- Provide instruction and feedback to third party delivery partners regarding objective and subjective KPIs.
- Create and implement training activities for administrative staff.
- Supervise the Deliver team while they perform day-to-day job functions.
What you will need
- Proven experience successfully operating within an operational supervisor/ management role within a distribution, logistical, transport environment.
- Strong people management, someone who can effectively coach, mentor and nurture individuals and teams.
- A proactive and creative approach to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and driving process improvements.
- Knowledge of the safety and legal documentation processes for handling warehouse related activities (MSDS, Equipment Checklist, BOL).
- Comfort with delivery routing technologies/strategies.
- Good commercial awareness, understanding of budget management & cost strategies (both qualifying cost increases and reduction for ROI).
- Effective communication skills, someone who can collaborate and build strong sustainable partnerships with internal and external members.
- Flexibility to cover other depots across the UK & Ireland region (may require travel and staying away from home).
