Job Description

Wayfair’s Physical Retail team is seeking a Visual Merchandising Specialist. This role will be an integral part of the Visual Presentation Team that will help develop and implement in-store presentations and planogram in order to scale stores in North America for the Wayfair brand. 

The Visual Merchandising Specialist has significant cross-functional responsibility (e.g., Merchandising, Creative, Store Operations) as we evolve the in-store experience. As the retail store fleet grows, this role will coordinate an increasing number of assets for Wayfair Stores. We are seeking a motivated leader who can execute our Visual Merchandising Strategy and provide thought-partnership to ensure that our stores are a major contributor to the financial success of our physical retail platform.

This role reports to the Senior Manager of Wayfair Visual Presentation and will manage one direct report.

What You’ll Do:
Lead product presentation planning for specific businesses for all seasonal floor sets and account for variances across store prototypes.
Consult on new store designs to ensure departments expand/contract in a consistent manner which minimizes variances across the fleet.
Determine signage needs and integrate into presentations; brief Signage and Brand Creative teams on requests.
Integrate physical presentation builds with virtual presentation builds to create the seasonal floorset documents for in-store execution.
Ensure presentation plans cohesively translate to store communication, inclusive of photography and planogram direction.
Adhere to timeline and process while leading visual reviews with cross-functional partners and visual leadership for sign-off.
Implement tactics to bring the visual merchandising and seasonal marketing strategies to life, ensuring the physical retail experience is consistent with the omni-channel experience.
Identify fixture accessories, props, and creative materials for integrated displays.
Partner with the Wayfair brand team to understand the upcoming product & promotional plans to integrate these plans into physical retail.
Develop standardization of training tools for stores in order to operationalize presentations across store prototypes.
Keep abreast of industry and market trends that will inform presentations and keep Wayfair competitive and relevant in the ever-evolving retail landscape.

What You’ll Need:
Physical retail experience in Home categories required, with preferred experience that bridges stores and corporate at a large-scale retailer along with supporting New Store Openings (NSO's) and demonstrating an  entrepreneurial spirit.
A portfolio of work showcasing experience in concepting and building visual presentations for Home categories.
5+ years of Visual Merchandising experience.
Ability to work at both our Home Office in Boston as well as our Retail Lab in Taunton.
Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to lead important strategic initiatives and multi-task.
Proficiency in SketchUp, Adobe Creative Cloud Software, and G Suite.
Proven team management and leadership skills; can inspire and motivate teams to bring future state vision to life.
Able to collaborate across all levels of the organization to achieve objectives.
Adaptability to organizational changes and complex structures.
High degree of integrity and confidence in one’s abilities as a business and visual leader.
Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” and a “get it done” attitude when time is tight and stakes are high.
Thrives in a high growth, ambiguous environment.
Some travel required for store visits and new store openings.
