About the Role

As an Executive Protection Specialist you will work as part of our Corporate Security Team to provide critical close protection services to Wealthsimple’s senior executives to ensure the safety and security of our executive team thereby contributing to the organization’s physical security program.

As an Executive Protection Specialist you will:

  • Provide close protection services to senior executives in the organization. 
  • Act as a private driver for senior executives as needed. 
  • Travel with senior executives on business trips and attend corporate events to ensure the protection of the executive team. 
  • Develop and implement security and logistical plans for domestic and international travel and appearances by senior executives. 
  • Anticipate, assess and manage situations where there may be  risk of harm to senior executives. 
  • Respond to all emergencies impacting senior executives and liaise with medical and police operations as needed. 
  • Maintain a database of communications and people that create a potential risk of harm to senior executives. Analyze data to evaluate the severity and nature of risks to senior executives. 
  • Work with the executive assistants for senior executives on all bookings and invites impacting senior executive physical safety. 
  • Monitor travel activity and country incidents that could impact executive safety while abroad. 
  • Conduct reviews, assessments, planning, consultations, and guidance on security issues impacting senior executives. 
  • Liaise with vendors and other third parties responsible for protecting senior executives including coordinating and implementing security systems and protocols. 
  • When not working or travelling with senior executives, provide security guard services to the Toronto office.
  • What you bring:

  • 2 + years experience in providing close protection / executive protection services. 
  • Background in the military, preferably with JTF 2 special operations (or equivalent). 
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate. 
  • Valid Province of Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Valid Canadian drivers licence (Class G or higher) and clear driving abstract. 
  • Valid Canadian passport. 
  • Possess technical and operational experience in tactical and defensive driving tactics. 
  • The ability to travel internationally and domestically as needed. 
  • The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends. 
  • The ability to handle contentious or sensitive issues with discretion and integrity.
  • This position is not eligible for remote work.
