As a Director of Supplier Industrialization and Development, you will be responsible for providing leadership across Zoox and its supply base to ensure world class quality of product and services feeding into Zoox vehicle platforms and associated infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading a team of Supplier Quality Engineers to develop and execute strategies to establish and maintain a robust, end-to-end quality system, encompassing both advanced and current / sustaining supplier performance, as well as drive continuous improvements in the quality of products and services within the Zoox supply base. Additionally, you will ensure Zoox suppliers comply with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
This role is full-time and located at our headquarters in Foster City, California.
In this role, you will:
Collaborate with Vehicle Engineering, Advanced Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, Software, Corporate Quality and other organizations to ensure the selection and management of best-in-class suppliers who will meet Zoox’s unique requirementsArchitect Zoox’s supplier industrialization strategy, processes and associated documentation and system(s)Establish strategies that lead to sustainable improvements in the defined quality metrics and ensure a proactive approach to prevent quality issues within the global supply baseLead and ensure appropriate execution of the supplier assessment and qualification process for the Advanced Product Quality Process (APQP) frameworkEstablish agreed metrics / key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier product quality such as cost of poor quality, defective parts per volume, non-conformances, etc...Partner with Zoox Strategic Sourcing Management in the definition and implementation of a strategic program that identifies, develops, and monitors underperforming suppliersContinue to lead, grow and mentor the Supplier Quality organization, to include engaging in long-term organizational design, team building and hiring, retention and continuous trainingWork cross-functionally with people at all levels (including C-Suite) and all cultures globally Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalentAt least ten years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Engineering and/or Supplier Quality dealing with supplier quality issues within an industry that is relevant to the autonomous vehicle industryAt least eight years of experience building and leading teams which includes more than two years managing people managers Knowledge developing short and long-term plans to build a more strategic leadership team and leading the hands on execution of it to support the maturity of the organizationAdvanced project management skills and the ability to influence change across a global operationKnowledge of quality/manufacturing processes especially with product categories such as sheet molded composite, stamping, casting, machining, injection molding, electronics, and related assembly methodsThorough knowledge of and experience with ISO/TS standards and Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standardsDemonstrated ability to solve complex problem / root cause analysis (e.g. Lean Six Sigma)Bonus Qualifications
