As a Network Validation engineer you will be responsible for developing, documenting and executing component and system-level hardware tests for our Ethernet-connected devices. You will collaborate with design and system engineers to characterize the functional performance of the Zoox vehicle ethernet system You will perform development tests on early prototypes and qualification testing on modules intended for vehicle use. Projects range from interface compliance testing to developing test assets. Test ExecutionPerform switch and ethernet cards validationConduct functional testing, compliance testing, performance testing, environmental and reliability testingTest Infrastructure DevelopmentDevelop custom test assets, set-ups and python scripts to enable efficient testingFacilitate complex test infrastructure projects by working with procurement and suppliers to setup chambers and equipment with non-trivial utility requirementsDocumentationDraft and present Test Plans, Design Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews and Data ReviewsReview and consult on documentation release for standards, design, and risk assessmentsQualifications
B.S. in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline4+ years of professional work experienceHands-on experience in testing Ethernet products and troubleshooting issuesExperience with PCB Design tools (Altium preferred)Experience using lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, E-loads, VNA, TDR, and spectrum analyzer)Experience using IxNetwork or TTworkbenchBonus Qualifications
M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or similar disciplineSystems and networking foundational knowledge (systems architecture, memory hierarchy, storage subsystems, LANs, routing)Experience with: Ethernet switching chipsets (i.e. Broadcom, Marvell), TCP/IP, L2/L3 etcFamiliarity with IEEE 802.3x Ethernet standards and both NRZ and PAM-4 signalingCommon bus protocols (SPI, I2C, MDIO)Process/Tool Familiarity with:Requirement-Test Case management tools (Polarion preferred)Ubuntu operating system and Command Line InterfacePython scriptingAtlassian software products (Jira/Confluence)
