COMPANY OVERVIEW.

At Zuora, we do Modern Business. We’re helping people subscribe to new ways of doing business that are better for people, companies and ultimately the planet. It’s an approach resulting from the shift to the Subscription Economy that puts customers first by building recurring relationships instead of one-time product sales and focuses on sustainable growth. Through our leading expertise and multi-product suite, we are transforming all industries and working with the world’s most innovative companies to monetize new business models, nurture subscriber relationships and optimize their digital experiences.

THE TEAM AND ROLE

Zuora’s Global Cloud Services teams are responsible for Cloud infrastructures, monitoring performance and uptime, managing internal and external shared services, infrastructure services, release management, and more - for Zuora’s customer facing SaaS products and platforms. Our technologists sit across USA, Costa Rica, China, India and remotely, using a follow-the-sun model to provide 24x7x365 coverage for critical functions and partner closely with our Engineering, Customer Support, Security, Global Services and Sales teams on a daily basis to keep our customers front and center.

Reporting to the SVP of Cloud & Support, this leader will be responsible for defining and executing a multi-year cloud strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and driving automation-first approaches across Zuora’s AWS-based cloud infrastructure. The role requires a balance of strategic vision, hands-on leadership, and production engineering expertise to support Zuora’s growth while maintaining world-class reliability, performance, scalability, and security standards.

This role can be remote from anywhere in the US. You’ll be working remotely while occasionally getting together with your team for office visits, events, or offsites. Of course, you’re welcome to come into the office more often if you’re nearby.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing cloud operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Own and execute a scalable, cost-effective cloud strategy, ensuring availability, security, and performance across Zuora’s AWS-based SaaS platform.
  • Optimize Zuora’s cloud environments to support current and future business needs, balancing cost efficiency, performance, and reliability.
  • Drive a resilient, self-healing cloud infrastructure, leveraging infrastructure-as-code (IaC), automation, and AIOps to reduce operational toil.
  • Enhance and drive incident management processes, including accelerated escalations, root cause analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement.
  • Enhance observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting to proactively detect and resolve issues before they impact customers.
  • Define and operationalize best practices for release management, ensuring a high-quality, low-risk software release process.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless and reliable software delivery across environments.
  • Own and drive developer enablement initiatives, ensuring cloud-native tools, infrastructure, and services are available to accelerate engineering velocity.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 15+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure management, or a related field at a large, high-growth technology company.
  • Proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing cloud production engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred; experience with Azure and GCP also valuable).
  • Strong experience with release management, CI/CD pipelines, and developer enablement in a cloud-native environment.
  • Expertise in reliability engineering (SRE), incident management, and large-scale production engineering.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and build trust within the team.
  • Excellent executive-level communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership
  • Experience in a public B2B SaaS environment is a plus.
