OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Data Annotation Expert with a linguistic background to contribute to a high-profile technology project located in the South Bay, California. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of data annotation across various formats (images, text, videos, among others) and a linguistic background or be linguistically aware. Proficiency in English (U.S.) is essential, and knowledge of Romance languages (French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, etc) is a plus. They will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of the project data, with a strong emphasis on writing skills.

Project Details
Job Title: Data Analysis Specialist
Location: On-site at one of our client's offices in South Bay, California
Hours: 40 hours weekly
Language: English (US)
Start date: Mid-April 2025
Employment Type: Full-time W-2 employee with benefits - 5 days a week
Duration: 1 year with a possibility of extension
Pay rate: $31.14/hour

Must have valid work authorization in the US (Welocalize does not sponsor VISAs at this time).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct data annotation for images, text, and videos
  • Perform QA tasks to ensure high-quality data
  • Collaborate with team members on-site
  • Ensure secure handling of data and maintain confidentiality
  • Write responses and queries and create prompts
  • Conduct LLM knowledge assessments and entity tagging
  • Perform benchmarking and other assessments with a high threshold for accuracy 
  • Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in data annotation
  • Strong understanding of safety considerations in GenAI data delivery
  • +3 years of professional experience in the subject matter area
  • Linguistic background and/or language awareness
  • Strong writing skills or a writing background, capable of applying complex writing rules
  • Knowledge of LLM, entity linking, and writing responses and queries
  • Augmented Reality experience is a plus (excluding bonding box annotation projects)
  • Proficiency in English (U.S.) at a fully fluent level is required
  • Romance languages knowledge is a plus but not mandatory (French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, etc)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work 100% on-site
