The Lead Performance and Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading automation and performance testing efforts, requiring a mix of technical expertise and leadership skills. This role involves mentoring and leading automation QA engineering teams while maintaining a hands-on approach in creating and executing automated and performance test suites for large-scale applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with automation and performance testing tools, ensuring applications perform efficiently, scale effectively, and function accurately. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive quality and performance improvements through continuous integration. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and guide a team of automation and performance engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. 
  • Design, develop, and execute load, stress, and scalability tests using tools such as JMeter and K6 to assess system performance. 
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts for functional and regression testing using tools like Selenium and Playwright. 
  • Continuously evaluate new features and functionalities to enhance automation processes, ensuring they remain effective and up to date. 
  • Develop and maintain robust automation frameworks and integrate performance testing within the CI/CD pipeline. 
  • Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of automation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution. 
  • Analyze and document test results, highlighting key performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and error rates. 
  • Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, proposing optimizations and enhancements. 
  • Drive best practices for performance testing, automation, and test strategy, ensuring efficient test coverage. 
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate performance testing efforts across multiple projects. 
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical leadership to team members, ensuring skill development and knowledge sharing. 

  • Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. 
  • 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 5 years in test automation and performance testing, and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. 
  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams, with strong communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Performance Testing tools such as JMeter and K6. 
  • Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript for scripting and automation.  
  • Hands-on experience with functional testing tools like Playwright and Selenium.  
  • Proficiency in API Testing and strong knowledge of database validation and queries. 
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • ISTQB Advanced Certification or equivalent. 
  • Certified JMeter Performance Tester.
