The Lead Performance and Automation Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading automation and performance testing efforts, requiring a mix of technical expertise and leadership skills. This role involves mentoring and leading automation QA engineering teams while maintaining a hands-on approach in creating and executing automated and performance test suites for large-scale applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience with automation and performance testing tools, ensuring applications perform efficiently, scale effectively, and function accurately. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to drive quality and performance improvements through continuous integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and guide a team of automation and performance engineers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement. Design, develop, and execute load, stress, and scalability tests using tools such as JMeter and K6 to assess system performance. Create and maintain automated test scripts for functional and regression testing using tools like Selenium and Playwright. Continuously evaluate new features and functionalities to enhance automation processes, ensuring they remain effective and up to date. Develop and maintain robust automation frameworks and integrate performance testing within the CI/CD pipeline. Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration of automation, performance monitoring, and issue resolution. Analyze and document test results, highlighting key performance metrics such as response time, throughput, and error rates. Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, proposing optimizations and enhancements. Drive best practices for performance testing, automation, and test strategy, ensuring efficient test coverage. Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate performance testing efforts across multiple projects. Provide training, mentorship, and technical leadership to team members, ensuring skill development and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Expertise:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including at least 5 years in test automation and performance testing, and a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in leading and mentoring QA teams, with strong communication skills. Proficient in Performance Testing tools such as JMeter and K6. Strong programming skills in Java and JavaScript for scripting and automation. Hands-on experience with functional testing tools like Playwright and Selenium. Proficiency in API Testing and strong knowledge of database validation and queries. Preferred Qualifications
