Welocalize is seeking individuals that has a passion for popular music and the artists who drive the craft. We are looking for candidates who can be involved in transcribing lyrical content in their target language in line with project and industry priorities. It is your role to evaluate the quality of both internal and external partner content to ensure the quality and standards of the finished products before they reach the user. We are looking for candidates with strong music, lyrics, metadata, data analyst, translation backgrounds. In this role you will be responsible of analyzing Music Lyrics Content - transcribing lyrics, proofreading/editing/QC-ing lyrics and analyzing music/artist metadata. Excellent linguistic skills, music knowledge. You will need passion for technology and a will to question the current workflows with the mindset to improve tools and processes.
 
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following;

Lyrics -
Transcribe lyrics for high priority content. 
Verify lyric accuracy on content sourced from partners, ensuring it meets the provided standards. 
Maintain time-sync coverage for top 80% of plays.

Music Curation -
Polish top albums in local market each week.
Polish albums / tracks featured in campaigns.
Maintain polishing coverage for top 80% of plays.
Make edits to metadata when needed.

Artist Curation -
Curate top artist in local market each week.
Polish artist pages featured in campaigns.
Make edits to metadata when needed.
 
This position may be exposed to content that could be construed as offensive, including but not limited to sexual, health related, racial or violent. 
 

Qualifications

  • Native-speaking knowledge of Telugu
  • Ability to read and write Telugu in both Indic script and Latin alphabet
  • Professional knowledge of English
  • Professional or native-level knowledge of additional Indian languages (Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Urdu) is considered a bonus
  • A wide range of knowledge/passion of/for music, musicians and genres of music preferred
  • Experience working within tech, product, digital media and entertainment
  • Self-motivated & able to handle repetitive tasks
  • Familiarity with XML and web-based content management systems preferred
  • Ability to thrive on change as products evolve
  • Must be highly detail-oriented with ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to quickly detect issues and inconsistencies from a massive sea of content and make sound judgment calls based on information at hand
  • Proven ability to maintain solid focus through many hours of performing repetitive tasks
  • Sharp problem solving and analytical skills, along with ability to learn from history and actively help errors from reoccurring
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analyze content problems with the ability to quickly assess complex situations
  • Work collaboratively with members of the team
  • Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and experience working with music, metadata, and content management (preferred).
