Manager, Strategic Operations Finance (Inbound Supply Chain):

The Strategic Operations Finance (SOF) team is seeking a Manager to lead financial support to the CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) team. CGF is a standalone business within Wayfair, providing ocean freight forwarding services and inbound supply chain solutions to Wayfair partners. This person will own the team responsible for monitoring, analysis and optimization of financial metrics and business growth to support the rapidly expanding CastleGate Forwarding business. As a central member of the team, you will provide financial visibility to senior leadership to make better operational decisions in several of our most important strategic initiatives. The right candidate has a passion for breaking down complex business problems into discrete analyses and using data to help make informed business decisions.

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as mini-CFO of Wayfair’s CastleGate Forwarding organization, providing financial analysis/reporting and thoughtful strategic insights
• Lead financial forecasting process built on a deep understanding of key business drivers
• Translate high-level business problems into more specific questions that can be answered through data analyses; leverage analytical findings to identify actionable business recommendations
• Develop reporting metrics and present data with a clear point of view so that insights can be used to help drive financial and operational strategy
• Partner with business stakeholders to generate financial forecasts, plan tests / pilots, and review business decisions

The right candidate has:

• 5+ years of experience in finance, operations, or strategy in a fast-paced environment or top-tier management consulting firm
• Experience managing or supporting junior team members 
• Must have strong financial acumen, with deep understanding of a P&L / income statement, and ability to link operational performance to financial data
• Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and ability to effectively convey insights from analyses to senior leaders
• Ability to drive complex projects to completion using effective project management, communication, and influence; strong ownership of tasks/deadlines/projects
• High proficiency in Google Sheets / MS Excel and SQL (Google Big Query)
• A degree in Finance / Economics, Mathematics / Statistics, Computer Science or other concentrations with heavy quantitative focus strongly preferred
